You left for the game five minutes late. You need to get there in time. It's all that matters. You go a little faster than normal. Because you need to get there in time. Why? Because you have a game. Will it affect your life if you're late? No. Then why? Because it is your moment. You need to get there on time. You take a sharp turn. You just want to be there when the game starts. You know it has no long term consequences. And yet you have this need to perfect this moment. It needs to be the best it can. It will have no long term effect on your life, but isn't that true for all moments? They're instances, and almost never decide what will happen the next day. You get do-overs. And there you sit, not fully stopping for the stop sign because you want a perfect moment.
