August 18th, 1966, was a terrific day. Wonderful and amazing things happen all around the world every day, but each day cannot be special to everyone. August 18th, 1966 is special to me. This is the day that has allowed for so much wonderfulness in my life. This is the day that let me play crazy soccer with my brother without being completely demolished. This is the day that has let me taste some of the most wonderful things in the world. This is the day that has given me love and taught me what life is. This is the day that my father was born. With one thrust I flew into this world, but I have never been alone. You have protected me. You have taught me. You have given me you. You're a gift that's irreplaceable. You were the one who read stories to me each night. You made sure I was safe. No matter what has gone on in life you have been there for me, and I am forever thankful for that. When I stood no chance in facing Duncan in backyard soccer, you would come in and be on my team. Every night, from childhood to now I have looked forward to the evening because I know you will cook something fantastic. From old classics, London broil and linguine, to new masterpieces like rib roasts, these meals have stood the test of time and taste. Life has been tough, but you have been there, always putting us, all three of your sons, in your front view. This is how it feels to me. And I love you for it, to the ends of time.
