Hugs are powerful. Hugs travel a lot farther than the seconds of contact. Hugs make us feel safe and loved. I don't know anything that can replace a hug. Every hug I am grateful for and I wish and will try and give so many more.

AC: I am so grateful for the help and kindness you showed me at the services. Going to get water with me, being a friend, and giving hugs to me and others.

CB: Kind words, strong words, you gave me both.

CM: Every head shake, ear wiggle, patting of your stomach. Each nose scratch, eye close, one-footed stand. All of those gave me a smile I will never forget.

CM's Mom: A wonderful loving hug, a warm note of hearts and turtles.

CV: Thank you for showing off our Easy Eats (trademark not pending) when I needed to be a couple hours late to the project fair.

G/DB: Thank you so much for the thoughtful and loving text.

DS: I did not know what to expect when we talked, but it was one of the things I'm most glad to have done.

EK: Thank you for the hugs Friday and the fun and kind texts you gave to me and the "small car crew".

JD: I am glad to have a hug from you.

JG: You were such a good friend last Friday. You held my hand when I needed it, and made sure I knew I wasn't alone.

JP: Thank you for the hug Friday.

KA: I appreciate the hug Friday.

KO: One more hug I'm glad to have gotten.

LG: You gave me a smile. I needed that smile. Even in the hardest moment, you lifted my spirits, and we mourned in a way of celebration of all we were lucky enough to have had.

MG: It took effort to find my phone number and check up on me when I was out of school Monday, but I am lucky to have a friend who did that.

MP: Thank you for printing out and offering to bring some mandalas when you knew I liked coloring them in hard times.

MO: At the services, you espoused kindness and hugs to me. And when I was not at school Monday, you checked to make sure I was okay. I really appreciate all of it. You're a wonderful friend.

NA: Your yearbook note made me feel special, and you have been such a wonderful teacher in my life.

NO: It was kind of you to ask if I was all right while we were in line at the wake.

RS: You made Bio Club function. You are the most kid-passionate teacher I have ever met, and I am so lucky to have met you.

SA(1): You were strong for the both of us when it was not easy. I do not know how you did it.

SA(2): Thanks for taking pictures of us together.

SB: I appreciate the ride to Eriksons you gave MP and I. I am also grateful for the hug on Friday.

SG: Thank you for the hug.
